Our Veterinarians
Dr. Laura Lee
Dr. Laura V. Lee was born in Ontario but has been in Nova Scotia since 1979, when she graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College. She has 2 children, 2 Siamese cats, Minnie and Tickadee, 1 longhaired cat, Simon, two horses and some fish. Her passions include riding horses, and she trains and shows dressage on Nick, her 20 year old Morab gelding. Spidey, her 17 year old Hanoverian – Thoroughbred gelding is in rehabilitation for a neck injury. Dr. Lee can also be found volunteering at the Atlantic Jazz Festival or playing Brazilian samba drums with Samba Nova. Now that her two children are in university she hopes to have more time to play the piano and drums, do more Pilates and Yoga, and jump on the trampoline!
Dr. Emma Slater
Dr. Emma Slater was born in Alberta and has been living in Nova Scotia since 1995. Dr. Slater graduated with honours from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2005. Prior to attending veterinary college she completed a Bachelour of Science honours Co-op in Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology from Dalhousie University in 2000. Dr. Slater lives in Dartmouth with her two mixed breed dogs, Darwin and Edison and her two cats Siris and Naboo. In her free time Dr. Slater enjoys hiking, baking and reading.
