Our Hospital

Acres Animal Hospital was incorporated in 1978 by a group of veterinarians before Dr. Laura Lee bought the practice in February 1994. The building was originally used by Sunset Marina to sell boats, and then for a while it was used to sell pools before it became a veterinary hospital. The name “Acres” comes from the Sunset Acres subdivision across the street, which was new at the time.

In 1994, after Dr. Lee purchased the practice, there were major renovations done inside the building. Recently, starting in 2004, there have been further renovations done both inside and outside the building. There have also been major equipment purchases recently, including a new x-ray machine to replace the old one and upgrades to our in-hospital blood analyzing equipment. Dr. Lee has also taken the training to become certified in animal chiropractic and veterinary acupuncture, and is one of the few veterinarians in the Atlantic Provinces to provide these services.
